Can be seen as a simplified version of a special feature of SD. Unfortunately, it is not frequently updated and cannot save the file as SD material. So, for those who have SD, this software is not useful.. I've just started using this program and I already love it. This is very useful not only to a game developer but anyone using pbr rendering like Iray or superfly. Get the substance Indie pack, it's well worth it.. This is hot stuff! The random tiling ability alone is a huge time saver when creating textures.. Using any of the programs in the Substance package borders on cheating. I mean that as a major compliment. Bitmap2Material was the first application I bought and was immediately floored by the quality of the product. Very easy to use while giving the user copious amounts of control. Allegorithmic has gone out of it's way to provide their users with enough training. There are stacks of documentation available on their website and more then enough tutorials on their Youtube channel. These cover the basics of the software to the integration with the Unity and Unreal4 engines. The sky is the limit with this software. Well worth the asking price. Well done, Allegorithmic. You have left me astounded and amazed.. Very very easy to use, creates nice tiling textures along with all the maps you may need from any photograph with some tweaking. The viewport has couple of shaders to test how the material looks with the current maps. If you are authoring PBR content it's possible to remove light effects from the diffuse map which is another plus. You don't even need a tutorial to learn how to use this, just takes 5-6 minutes to go over all the settings and learn how it works. Recommended.. An incredible tool for making textures out of photos!
